Saturday's Short Story - NAIA FINALE

Hello my dear friend, Dillfinger is back with the finale of NAIA! If you have not read the last 5 parts, I suggest you go read them so that this makes sense. Enjoy!

Natalie and Justin ran out into the cold snow. It had been almost a whole year since the incident with the mutant, an event that had been both a tragedy and a blessing for Natalie.

“I love you,” whispered Natalie, squeezing Justin’s hand,

“I love you too,” he replied. He picked her up around her waist and spun her around, the skirt of her white, ballgown, wedding dress floated perfectly around her. Just as he set her down a flood of guests burst through the church doors. Words of congratulations echoed through Natalie’s head. Michael, using his crutches, hobbled up to the newlyweds.

“Congratulations you guys! I’m so happy for you,” he smiled. Natalie thanked him and gave him a hug, being careful as not to offset his balance. She released him and greeted the rest of their guests.

After greeting the guests, embarking on the short drive to the reception venue, and eating their dinner, it was time for the maid of honour, Natalie’s older Sister, and best man, Justin’s older brother, to make their speeches. As Natalie’s sister, Thalia, stood up she started clinking her spoon against her glass. A thunder of laughter erupted when the glass shattered.

“Uhm, well…I wasn’t really expecting that,” she started off, “but I guess I’ll just continue on with my speech. Before I moved away to England, Natalie and I lived together. Now, Natalie was usually a great roommate; however, there were a few times that she drove me bananas. She loved to stay up late studying while jamming out to music. This was aggravating as I usually had early morning shifts at work. Natalie would also do things like insist that the house had to be perfectly clean. She would also insist that we had to have proper meals, always cooking up a storm in the kitchen. What I am trying to get at here is that Natalie is an astonishingly neat, diligent, and smart person. I think that she is going to be the perfect match for Justin, and I am sure that if Mom and Dad were still here, they would love Justin just as much as I do.” With her speech spoken, Thalia sat back down. Natalie hugged her sister, although Thalia wasn’t the best at speeches, Natalie loved it. Justin’s brother, James, stood up and began his speech.

“Hello everyone, my name is James. I am Justin’s older brother and best man,” he went on to describe some childhood stories and give his best wishes to his brother and sister-in-law. After the speeches had finished, it was time for the first dance. As Justin took Natalie’s hand and they started to dance. During those few minutes of dancing, Natalie felt like all of the problems in the world had melted away. The dance finished off with Justin twirling Natalie around before ending in a dip. They gazed into each other’s eyes before Justin brought her out of the dip and kissed her. At that moment, Natalie knew that she didn’t have to worry about the mutant haunting her dreams. She was safe.

The End.

I hope you all liked the end of the story! Let me know what you think and what the next story should be about!
